Crea Forge

It’s just as important for any company in business today to have a website as to have a phone number.

Nearly every house has a computer. People turn to the Internet before the phonebook these days. So if your not on the Internet your invisible to your potential customers, their business going to the competitors that are online.

If your not tech’ savy it’s no reason to presume people who are looking for your service aren’t looking on the Internet.

Having a website gives potential customers a chance to review your services or products 24 hours a day, at their convenience.  It also gives you a chance to inform people about your products or services or any special offers etc.

Many people research online things they are going to purchase or services they are going to avail of, again, if your not there they won’t know about you.

There are different options for getting your business online:

  • You could start out with a simple brochure website .  This is a website created and updated by the designer.  It can be as simple or as comprehensive as you like.  A typical brochure website has 3 – 5 pages:  Some information about your company on the front page with an image and a company logo, possibly a portfolio or gallery page and a contact page.
  • If you will need to update your website frequently you’ll need a CMS or content management system.  The designer creates this website based on your requirements.  On completion you’ll be able to update the CMS yourself with a very user friendly admin’ panel.
  • If your going to sell products you’ll require an online e commerce store.  Similar process to the CMS website.  The designer creates the website based on your requirements.  On completion you’ll be able to update your e commerce store with new products and process your orders.

Due to the amount of queries I’ve been getting around setting up your webmail account with Outlook Express I thought I’d write a tutorial.

Firstly you’ll need all your information at hand.

  • your email address
  • your password
  • your incoming mail server SMTP (this is: mail.yourdomainname.ie)
  • your outgoing mail server POP3 (this is: mail.yourdomainname.ie)

Ok

Open up Outlook Express.

From the very top menu items(file, edit etc.) select ‘Tools’

From the drop down menu select ‘Account’

Select ‘Add’ and then ‘Mail’

Your then asked for your ‘name’ ‘(enter your own name here or your company name)

click ‘Next’

Next enter your ‘email address’

click ‘Next’

Select ‘POP3′ from the dropdown menu.

imcoming: mail.yourdomainname.ie or mail.yourdomainname.com

outgoing: mail.yourdomainname.ie or mail.yourdomainname.com

Click ‘Next’

enter your username – this is your email username

enter your password - this is your email password

Do not select the tick box ‘log in using secure Authentication’

Click ‘Next’

The congratulations screen appears.

Click ‘Finish’

That’s it you’ve now set up your webmail account to work with Outlook Express.

I hope this helps!
